Organizations in Wilmington are encouraged to sponsor a Candidate to become Honorary Mayor for two years. As Honorary Mayor, one would attend community events such as the Wilmington parades.
A Candidate must be:
- 18 years or older
- Willing to represent Wilmington for two years -September 2010 to September 2012,
- Nominated by a non-profit in Wilmington
- Willing to raise needed funds for community service organizations
