Local Eats- Guario's Cafe a.k.a Montoyas

Stashed in the pockets of the east Wilmington neighborhood, lies Montoyas. A family-owned Mexican cookery that has been filling hungry bellies for many years. Its located on the corner of Watson Ave./ Young St. Stop in early morning for a fast and hearty breakfast, or make the dash on your lunch break to catch some delicious home-style cooking.
People come from all corners to sink their teeth into the scorching hot chile verde. The delicious tortas de jamon and tostadas de ceviche are sure to meet your taste-buds' needs. The tamales de harina and tacos de chorizo are one of a kind! Get ready to taste some of the best "Aguas" in town! The ice-cold lemonade is sure to liven up your hot summer day; the impeccable pineapple drink will sweeten any situation! Come prepared with your pot as early as possible on weekends to get your fill of their hot and tasty menudo. Catch some fresh air on the outdoor benches, or order to-go, and enjoy a picnic at the park, just a few paces away!

Customers with a bigger appetite order the massive Burrito Oso, the king of breakfast burritos. This heavy-duty culinary creation packs a punch. It is a battle ship built with carne asada, beans, eggs, chile verde and avocado. For around 5 dollars, you can get an entire Mexican feast! A breakfast plate, that will cost you double at a sit-down Mexican restaurant, comes neatly packed in a hot flour tortilla.
After the first bite, the explosion of flavors sizzle the taste buds, and cause a festival of flavor in the mouth.
The more-than-reasonable prices keep the customer line flowing on a daily basis at this hidden eatery. The low-key location makes it a favorite among local residents, as well as people who work in the area. Come as early as possible, they open early, and close early.
